Kam completed a Business degree at York University many years ago, providing a solid foundation for his career as an entrepreneur. He has been self-employed since the early 1990s and part of the Mary Brown’s family since 2011.
Kam says, “I had my first taste of Mary Brown’s when the third store in Edmonton opened in Clairview. I fell in love with the taste of the chicken. When I investigated further, I realized that even though the brand wasn’t well recognized in this region, it had enormous potential.”
Armed with drive, commitment and business savvy, Kam opened his first Mary Brown’s store in 2011. Today he has three successful stores: one in Spruce Grove that he co-owns with his sister; one in Red Deer and one Millbrook Plaza, Edmonton. Another location is being developed for Kam right now in Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Clearly, Kam’s passion for the Mary Brown’s brand keeps growing and growing!
He shares a valuable insight about his success, “One of the most important factors for success, in my opinion, is finding and keeping the right employees. Having a team that is dedicated to superior Guest service helps everything else fall into place.”
He also adds, “The biggest challenges for us right now are the struggling Alberta economy coupled with the rising minimum wage. Both home office and the store operators need to work together to manage these issues.”
Kam summarizes his optimism and commitment, “I strongly believe in Mary Brown’s product. I am certain that as a team we will become a market leader in our region.”
We strongly agree and fully support Kam and all our Franchisees as we grow the Mary Brown’s brand coast-to-coast!
