Meet Miranda & James Walker, Lindsay, Ontario Mary Brown’s Franchisees of the Year!
Miranda and James Walker come from a background in Hospitality & Restaurant Management, making them ideally suited to own and operate a Mary Brown’s Chicken & Taters. They took ownership of the Mary Brown’s location in Lindsay, Ontario in 2015 and they’ve been extraordinary Operators from day one!
Miranda shares how it all began. “When James and I first tried the chicken at Mary Brown’s, we knew this was our next journey. The quality and the taste left us both really impressed. When the opportunity arose for us to become Mary Brown’s business owners, we said ‘yes’ whole heartedly.”
Over the years, Miranda and James have focused on growing sales and brand awareness in their town through extensive community involvement, a commitment to local charities and true East Coast Hospitality. Their hard work has definitely paid off -- they have made Mary Brown’s a staple in Lindsay. For them, it’s all about giving Guests superior product and exceptional service every time! Equally important, Miranda and James’s store consistently meets and exceeds Mary Brown’s stringent standards for operational excellence in every way.
Miranda and James are passionate ambassadors for the brand – with Guests and with other Franchisees. Miranda has been sitting on the Mary Brown’s National Advisory Committee board since late 2017; she was elected by her peers to sit on behalf of Ontario Franchisees.
Miranda and James believe in Mary Brown’s vision and the people as much as they do the product. Miranda explains, “We chose Mary Brown’s for many reasons – we love that it’s a 100% Canadian company and that there’s a huge focus on freshness. Using fresh, Canada Grade A local chicken and then hand cutting it in-store really separates us from our competition.” She adds, “But what’s best is that Mary Brown’s feels like extended family. There’s a very strong sense of community and caring.”
