Our Franchisee in Barrie, Ontario at 165 Wellington St. West & 563 Essa Rd.

Tina was already a successful sales and marketing professional when she joined the Mary Brown’s family. Passionate and confident, she purchased two Mary Brown’s locations in Barrie at the same time and took ownership of each within a two-week time frame – and hasn’t looked back!

Tina says, “After being successful at increasing sales and profit margins for other companies, I knew I was destined to be an entrepreneur. I had developed methods that worked for operations, training, employee engagement and customer satisfaction for other companies...my dream was to bring everything I had learned to my own business.”

Building Success

Within a few short months of taking ownership, Tina increased sales, gained community trust in the Mary Brown’s product, introduced positive coaching methods and introduced delivery to her stores. What’s more, she made Guest satisfaction and service a top priority, earning hospitality recognition month after month from Mary Brown’s Support Centre.

Tina explains, “I wanted to operate a community-based business that made a difference – a business that genuinely cared and gave back – not just to Guests but to employees too.”

Tina has been true to that, going above and beyond to empower her team and build Guest devotion.

Background

Tina’s background has prepared her well for building successful Mary Brown’s stores. She was previously a senior manager for Skyline Resorts and Hotels (owners of Horseshoe Resort, Deerhurst Resort, Pantages Hotel and Cosmopolitan Hotel) where she implemented an Employee Training program that produced an increase in revenue of 18% in its first 6 months. She also held a Sales and Marketing Manager position for a high-end office products company for 12 years.

Tina and her husband live in Barrie and also have a blown fibreglass insulation business, run by her husband. She handles the accounting, marketing and social media.

Future Plans

We’re excited to hear Tina’s plans for the future! She says, “I don’t want to stop at two locations. My goal is purchase two more Mary Brown’s stores and to meet high sales goals for all locations. With the assistance of the fantastic team at Mary Brown’s Support Centre, I believe this will happen in less than five years.”
